Frequently Asked Questions/Concerns

I’m not thin enough/young enough/glamorous enough to do this. How am I going to get any good photos?

Pssshhhht….everything that you are already in this moment is enough. Every single person that does a boudoir shoot (yes even the thin, young people!) has some version of the same dialogue going on in their heads. Stop listening to your brain and listen to your heart and soul! You are worth this and you deserve to have beautiful imagery of yourself in the world, even if it stays in a drawer most of the time! Are you a human being that is 18 years or older? Do you have a body? Then YOU CAN DO THIS!

Do you do touch-ups or airbrushing?

Yes, to a degree. I will get rid of acne and some scarring, minor cellulite and wrinkles but I won’t completely change the look of YOU. The changes that your body has gone through over the years help tell the story of who you are, where you’ve been and who you are becoming. It’s something I will hopefully help you love instead of try to hide. We will discuss prior to the shoot what degree of retouching you’d prefer or if there are any areas you’d like to me to pay attention to. Proud of your hard-earned tiger stripes? I’d be more than happy to leave them be!

Will my images be made public?

Only with your consent! I shoot a lot of bomb-diggity stuff that you’ll never get to see because my clients want to keep it private. I am grateful to everyone who lets me share their work with the world but I won’t bully you into sharing if that’s not in your comfort zone.

Who will be at my photoshoot?

Just you, me and Elle, my hair and makeup artist.

Can I bring someone to my photoshoot?

The short answer is no. The long answer is that it impedes the connection between photographer (me) and model (you!) needed to get awesome shots. This is your time to shine and anyone else in the room is just going to take the attention away from you. Now if you want someone to meet me in the beginning to make sure I’m not an axe murderer that’s totally fine by me!

What if I want to do my own hair and makeup?

Hair and makeup for a photoshoot is vastly different from normal hair and makeup. It’s heavier, more volumous, and different colors and products are used to make you look your best and stand out in front of the camera. Because of this, hair and makeup is automatically built into all of my sessions. This is an important part of the whole process and it’s your time to just relax, be pampered and help us warm up to one another beforehand. If you are a professional hair and makeup artist or prefer to be au naturale then we can discuss that during your consultation.

What if I don’t have anyone to give these images to?

The clients who don’t have anyone to give the images to are ultimately my favorite to work with because they are doing this for themselves. They are giving a gift of self-love and acceptance to themselves and I am overcome with elation and gratitude that I get to be there for a bit of their amazing journey! If nothing else, do it so you can look back at these images when you’re 90 and say, “Damn, I was hot!”

Do you offer nude or semi-nude shoots?

Hell to the yes! Although my favorite part is the dressing up, your body is most beautiful in its natural state and we should all strive to become a little more comfortable in our naked skin. I would be honored to take nude or semi-nude photos of you and I hope that at least a portion of your session is done naked so you can have professional images of yourself sans clothing.

I don’t know how to pose!

Lucky for you I do! I will pose you from the crown of your beautiful bouncy locks to your prettily painted pinky toe. Some of the poses might feel a little strange when you’re in them but if you trust me and the process you’ll end up with some awesome images. We have a saying in the photographer world that goes, “If it isn’t a little uncomfortable then you aren’t doing it right!”

When will I be able to view my session images and when will I receive my products?

You will be able to view your images within 21 days after your session. Once you’ve selected the images and products you’d like to order and paid in full for them I will place your order and they’ll be at your doorstep within two weeks!

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards. I also accept puppies. Just kidding, my dog Dobby is not good with sharing affection!

Do you need a deposit in order to reserve my photoshoot?

Yes. I do require a non-refundable $500 deposit and signed agreement to reserve your photo shoot and block out that date. This $500 goes towards the overall price of the photo shoot, it’s not an additional fee.

What is your refund policy? Can I reschedule?

I understand that sometimes life gets in the way. If you need to reschedule and contact me prior to 14 days before your photoshoot date then you can transfer your date to a day within 60 days of your original appointment date as long as my schedule permits. Please keep in mind that when we schedule a session I am booking a flight for myself, reserving a hotel room and paying my hair and makeup artist to block her calendar for you as well as turning away other paying clients who may want your date. I cannot guarantee the same location if you reschedule so please keep that in mind. If you give me less than 14 days notice you forfeit your $500 down payment and I keep your money.

Can I give a session as a gift?

Yes! You are awesome! I offer gift certificates that can be used towards the session and/or products. The client will have to book the session and sign the contract though so please keep that in mind.
